E18 | Kingsley Yew The Concierge P.T.

On Episode 18 of The P.T. Entrepreneur Podcast I am joined by my friend and mentee Kingsley Yew. Kingsley is the Concierge Physical Therapist out on Long Island and recently was down in Atlanta with me to talk about how he could grow his already bustling business. The episode starts off with a run down of Kingsley’s history as a P.T., how his practice came to be and then we have a bit of fun when I follow up with some action items I gave him while he was down here in Atlanta.

Here is more on Kingsley Yew and where to find him on the internet.

Kingsley is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and earned his degree from Stony Brook University in New York. As a physical therapy student, he learned how to treat diagnoses such as traumatic brain injuries, stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, delayed motor development in children and Early Intervention programs. He was the sole recipient among his graduating class of the ‘Clinical Excellence Award’ for exemplary clinical work in acute care, pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy settings.

His prior educational background also include a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Hofstra University – where he completed his Athletic Trainer clinical requirements with Division I Level college football, wrestling, lacrosse, softball and field hockey teams. Following graduation from Hofstra and certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), he served as the assistant Athletic Trainer for Garden City High School (2002-2003), head Athletic Trainer for Wantagh High School and Middle School (2004-2005) and as the Head Athletic Trainer and Doctor of Physical Therapy for Plainview High School on Long Island.

His expertise and passion are orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Kingsley has more than 10 years of experience in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. He treats a variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries with manual therapy techniques accompanied with movement specific exercise that promote the body’s natural ability to heal, re-learn and improve performance.

Kingsley believes that overall wellness and fitness is attainable, no matter what age you are with habitual exercise, healthy eating habits, self-care mobility work and bodywork. He has been enjoying Crossfit since 2015 and has found that it has given him the strength and confidence to embark on any other physical challenge that he chooses to pursue.

Kingsley is a MobilityWOD  – Movement and Mobility 101 and 102 Certified Coach and is listed in the MobilityWOD directory of preferred providers. He is also a Certified Pose Method Running Technique Specialist and Certified TRX Sports Medicine Instructor.
